    Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is a global premium automotive business with two great British car brands. Today JLR produces nine car lines, designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK and sold across 177 countries. JLR operates across five sites and is the only volume manufacturer of premium/luxury vehicles in the UK.

    JLR employs over 23,000 talented and passionate employees in the UK and supports over 170,000 more jobs in total (through direct employment; dealers; suppliers & the broader dependent economy).

    Halewood Operations manufactures the Land Rover Freelander 2 and the multi award winning Range Rover Evoque. The plant is celebrating its 50th Anniversary during 2012/13 and has been a JLR facility since 1998.

    Halewood is a full body and assembly plant, including: Press Shop, Body and White Assembly, Paint Shop, and Trim and Final. The site covers 300 acres of manufacturing space and is home to over 4500 employees, a number which has trebled in less than 3 years. Over the past 12 months more than 1300 new employees have completed their Intermediate Level 2 Apprenticeship.

    Due to the strong global demand for both Halewood vehicles, the plant has moved to 24 hour operation (over 3 and 4 shifts). This is the first time Halewood has operated around the clock in the plants 50 year history.

    Halewood Operations is an award winning facility. Most recently collecting the titles of; ‘Knowsley Business of the Year 2011’ (Knowsley Borough Council) and ‘Investment of the Year’ (Liverpool Post Regional Business Award 2011). In addition the Range Rover Evoque has received a staggering 120 international awards in its first year of production, including ‘BBC Top Gear Car of the Year’ and the highest engineering accolade, the ‘MacRobert Award’.
