    Digital 4 Manufacturing: Start here

    The Knowledge Transfer Network
    Tuesday, 28 February 2017 from 08:30 to 14:30
    Sheffield, United Kingdom

There’s a lot of talk right now about how digital technologies and approaches can transform manufacturing – robotics & automation, the “internet of things”, augmented/virtual reality, “Industry 4.0”. It is becoming clear that when implemented well these can help manufacturers to realise a more productive, prosperous future. Smaller companies in particular are central to realising this “fourth industrial revolution”. However, knowing where to start is not easy, and your budget may be tight.

On 28th February, the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC; part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult) and the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) will cut through the hype to bring you a no nonsense, jargon-free guide to this revolution, and introduce the support and funding that is out there to help – for instance via Innovate UK.

In particular we’ll demonstrate some of the most easily accessible technologies which any business could implement now, and highlight some of the key benefits – for instance:

    • Virtual and augmented reality
    • Digitally assisted assembly
    • Internet of Things
    • Robotics & automation
