In the Driving Seat: Matthew Rose, Director, TISS Ltd

When not at work, Matthew can either be found playing in a band, standing in the mud at Glastonbury, or following Ipswich Town around the UK and further afield

    Name
    Matthew Rose

    Company
    TISS Ltd

    Position
    Director

    Apart from that
Members of the SMMT, North West Lancs Chamber of Commerce & Federation of Small Businesses. We are also delighted to have just won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2014.

Personally, I am both an MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) and Prince2 Registered Practitioner and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

    Association with NAA
Member since 2010, also Members of the Business Excellence Programme.  Finalists in the ‘Innovative Product’ Category at the 2008 NAA Awards.

    Personal
An exiled Southerner (born and nurtured in Suffolk) I migrated North of the Watford Gap at 18 and have never returned South. Currently settled in Manchester. Hobbies = Music, Music, Music. I play Guitar and am principal Songwriter for Vanity Pages (www.facebook.com/vanitypages & www.soundcloud.com/vanitypages), a great, as yet undiscovered Indie Pop/Folk Band currently performing to tens of people on our perennial tour of Greater Manchester Gig Venues. For holidays, I forego luxurious relaxing exotic beach holidays in favour of getting cold, wet and muddy in a field for five days: AKA Glastonbury. To ease me into my 30’s, my more recently acquired interests include expanding my Vinyl Record Collection and sampling Real Ale.

    Favourite football team
Ipswich Town. I firmly believe you’ve got to support your Home Town Team. My long (suffering) support has taken me to 63 different league grounds and has included trips to Moscow and Milan watching the ‘Tractor Boys’ perform to various levels of competence.

    Musical performer
Other than Vanity Pages (another shameless plug!) predominantly Indie-Pop or Britpop Bands. Difficult to scale down my list of favourites sufficiently, but the current top five would probably include: Belle & Sebastian, Arcade Fire, James, Shed Seven and Primal Scream.

    Movie
    1) Shawshank Redemption
    2)  Role Models
    3) Saving Private Ryan.

    Books
Losing My Virginity – Richard Branson

    Best motoring moment
Any time I drive to or from the office and am not held up on one of the M60, M61, M6 or M55 motorways!
