Liverpool City Region is successful in bid for Sensor City University Enterprise Zone

This incredibly welcome announcement reflects the quality of the application put together by the two Universities and the letters of support received from industry. Sensors were identified as a specific Liverpool City Region competence during the Making It process and the Sensor City bid drew heavily on this in the submission to Government.

This is fantastic news for advanced manufacturing in the Liverpool City Region as it can now build an offer around its recognised competencies in sensors and sensor systems. Sensors are underpinning technologies that support almost every type of manufacturing and will become increasingly important over the coming decades. This is especially true in the automotive sector, where different parts of a vehicle need to talk to other parts.
