Founded in 1936, the company became renowned for its product quality and customer service. This tradition is upheld today, making F.D. Sims the preferred supplier to many major companies.
After joining forces with the IRCE S.p.A Group in March 2001 we became one of the most forward thinking and technologically advanced wire producers in the world. One of the many advantages of this transition is that F.D. Sims and its customers receive the benefit of latest production technologies in a purpose built facility opened in 2005.
Since 2006 there has been a concerted investment programme that has incorporated new manufacturing processes, control techniques and integrated production planning systems that further expand our product range whilst still providing customer focused service, offering bespoke products, unique to individual requirements.
Our customers include; manufacturers of electric motors, generators and transformers for the electrical power industry; as well as power tools and transformers for the construction industry.
The most recent development has been the introduction of a range of conductors to power the new generation of hybrid and electric vehicles (EV) that are planned for release over the next decade and again confirms IRCE S.p.A Group and its subsidiaries as technology leaders in the industry.
The company has developed its business internationally through its network of agents and distributors in markets such as; continental Europe, Malaysia, Singapore and many Middle Eastern companies as well as dealing directly with major OEM manufacturers in many territories.
Quality assurance is essential to company policy and our company system is accredited to IATF 16949: 2016. In conjunction with this our management systems include; environmental systems accredited to IS0 90001: 2015 and ISO 14001: 2015. The company is also working towards being accredited to IS045001:2018 for our health and safety systems.
F.D. Sims products are manufactured to internal specifications that exceed the requirements of IES Standards and those of British Standards and NEMA specifications.
