Malaysia is a capable, growing market and an influential country in the ASEAN region and beyond.
In support of the governmental UK and Malaysia bilateral agreement signed in 2011, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and BAE Systems are looking to promote opportunities for increased relationships, two-way trade and investment in Malaysia.

The Conference
In support of this initiative a multi-sector Industrial Conference is scheduled on 26th February 2014 to champion the UK and Malaysian agenda for economic development and closer cooperation, and to address areas outlined in the Malaysian Economic Transformation Programme (ETP).
This industry conference is to encourage business development through closer working relationships with Malaysian Industry. The conference will brief the trade environment in Malaysia and will aim to inform, identify and facilitate opportunities in support of closer trade relationships, including information briefed by Malaysian organisations outlining the support and packages available to encourage investment.

This year’s event has a multi-industry attendance with a focus on Human Capital Development; there will also be an opportunity for business-to-business meetings to help develop opportunities. UKTI North West will organise a multi-sector trade mission in June 2014 to Malaysia to coincide with SME Corp Malaysia’s SMIDEC Trade Show 2014 in Kuala Lumpur. The show will offer an ideal opportunity to develop opportunities through further business to business matching.
