The Centre for Global Eco-Innovation brings together the expertise, resources and global contacts of Lancaster University and the University of Liverpool, together with international commercialisation consultancy Inventya Limited to undertake SME-led collaborative R&D partnerships. The centre will be officially launched at this event by Lord Drayson of Kensington (formerly the UK Science Minister)

Lord Drayson is a highly successful entrepreneur who built his profile from start-up businesses and the pharmaceutical sector. He now runs Drayson Racing Technology, a high tech engineering business which was the first to commit to the new FIA racing series Formula E for electric cars.
Event Format
This showcase event begins at 1:30pm with a buffet lunch and an exhibition featuring the 50 Northwest SMEs undertaking intensive three-year collaborative projects. Displays from the three partner organisations will showcase current research. This event will launch the next phase of the project and explain how additional Northwest businesses can receive free assistance.

Following the talks the exhibition will continue until 4:30pm. The showcase offers an excellent chance to network with like-minded SMEs, prominent academics in the field of eco-innovation and project staff who will offer guidance and advice on tailored assistance for your organisation.
About the Centre for Global Eco-Innovation
At the heart of the centre is a team of 50 graduates working on intensive three-year long collaborative research and development projects with Northwest SMEs. The graduates use these collaborations as the basis of a PhD programme of study and are supported by senior academic members of staff, all internationally-recognised experts in their fields.
In addition to these projects, the centre provides opportunities for up to 235 additional companies in the Northwest to be supported in their development of new products and services through 3-6 month R&D collaborations with a partner university.
The project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the aim is to enhance the absorptive capacity of SMEs for research, development and innovation outcomes.
