    The automotive sector is experiencing unprecedented levels of change. Industry experts predict the end of the internal combustion engine, car dealerships, human driving and a shift from private vehicle ownership to the use of “mobility service providers”. This event offers presentations from leading industry experts on future trends in the automotive sector and how SMEs can position themselves within emerging supply chains.

    Nissan UK have been pioneers in the electric vehicle market with the Nissan LEAF, Europe’s best selling EV, manufactured at its Sunderland plant. Nissan will give a keynote speech outlining their vision that “the future car will be electric and autonomous” and present detail of their investment plans for electric vehicles, vehicle-to-grid and domestic energy storage products.

    The Transport Systems Catapult and the Advanced Propulsion Centre will present their work on the future transport revolution and emerging supply chains in both ‘hardware’ manufacture and such diverse areas as electric vehicle infrastructure, system software design, infotainment, data analytics, cyber security etc.

    The event will showcase the LEVEL project recently established to promote skills training, knowledge transfer and business networking in the low emission vehicle sector. Details will be presented on the project’s aims and its upcoming local event programme.

    LEVEL (Low Emission Vehicle Enterprise & Learning) delivers skills training, business networking and knowledge transfer in emerging low carbon transport technologies through the organisation of training courses, skills workshops, business networking events, master classes and conferences.

    LEVEL is a joint initiative of Derby City Council, Nottingham City Council, Cenex and CleanTech Business Ltd and receives funding support from Go Ultra Low Nottingham.
