Geri Outreach Laboratory Showcase

Venue: Peter Jost Upper Lecture Theatre
The event will allow visitors to tour the facilities, gain insight into current research activities, identify areas of collaboration and provide ample networking opportunities with key stakeholders from the region.
The refurbishment of the laboratories was made possible by the exciting GERI Outreach Project which is aimed at providing support to NW industry by helping to achieve their research goals specifically through providing extensive support on accessing grant funding. The project is fully funded by the European Regional Development Fund and to date, the project has been running for 18 months with many NW SMEs and other organisations already having benefited. The project has recently been granted an extension to continue the support to local companies until July 2015.
The event will be opened by Professor Nigel Weatherill, LJMU Vice-Chancellor and there will be some short presentations introducing the research activities, support available to NW organisations under the Outreach Projects, before a tour of the facilities.
You are welcome to join us for a networking lunch from 1.00pm, with proceedings starting at 2.00pm. The tour is expected to finish at 5.00pm when there will be an opportunity to ask researchers further questions regarding areas of interest and also additional networking and refreshments.
