Introduction to graphene and other 2D Materials
Manchester is an international centre of excellence for graphene.
These events will give you the chance to find out more about the role of the National Graphene Institute (NGI) and the Graphene Engineering and Innovation Centre (GEIC).
Graphene. The world’s first 2D material. Since its isolation in 2004 it has captured the imagination of scientists and researchers worldwide. It is ultra-light, yet immensely tough. It is 200 times stronger than steel, but is incredibly flexible. It is fire resistant yet retains heat. It is a superb conductor, but not even helium can pass through it.
8:00 am – 1:30 pm
National Graphene Institute (NGI) The University of Manchester, Booth Street East, Manchester, M13 9QS
