The field of additive manufacturing has been gathering increasing momentum in recent years, progressing from being a niche manufacturing capability practiced mostly by university research groups to being a recognisable part of mainstream production.

As one of the UK’s main providers of functional metal components through direct metal laser sintering, 3T RPD are well qualified to provide a knowledgeable perspective on where this technology currently stands, and where it is going. They are working with many global auto and aero sector primes to establish methods for the rapid generation of parts for development and for small scale series production.  http://www.3trpd.co.uk/

BAE SYSTEMS were an early adopter of additive manufacturing technology for the production of wind tunnel test models, and have developed this position through more than a decade of work.
