IMechE North West Automobile Division – ‘Visit to JCB Power Systems’, 15 October 2014, Derby
Start date: 15/10/2014
Cost: Free Limited spaces available and booking is required
Speaker: Malcolm Sandford, Manager Director, JCB Powertrain
This event is a privileged visit and tour of the new Research and Development Centre located at JCB engine manufacturing headquarters in Foston, Derbyshire.
An ahead of its time ‘no faults forward’ approach to production, does not allow engines to proceed to the next manufacturing stage until the previous one has been achieved to perfection. JCB also worked closely with some of the world’s leading component and equipment suppliers to ensure its engines use only the most advanced, proven technology available. The facility includes ten new state of the art test cells and test equipment for the development of JCB`s low emissions engines. This facility is capable of running engines up to 300kW and possesses all the latest, most important, fast transient measurement technology and capability.
