Industry Day – Laser Driven Sources, Didcot, 19 July 2017
Start date: 19/07/2017
Cost: Free, Registration required via Eventbrite link
For a number of years the Central Laser Facility together with its academic and industrial partners have been using high power lasers to develop and study Laser Driven Sources of radiation. These sources consist of high energy beams of x-rays, electrons, neutrons, ions and even muons and positrons. They offer a vast opportunity for applications requiring deep probing beams with high spatial and temporal resolution such as Non-Destructive Testing and Inspection. In parallel CLF’s Centre for Advanced Technology and Applications (CALTA) has developed the world-leading DiPOLE laser platform. A system that combines high average power with high peak power, the key enabler for realising these applications in the real world.
The time is right to bring this technology into solving critical and currently intractable challenges faced by industry.
You are cordially invited to attend a special industry focus day on 19th July at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory to learn about the capabilities, highlight industry requirements and discuss solutions to challenges whilst forging new partnerships.
