National Women in Engineering Day Tuesday 23rd June 2015

    Start date: 23/06/2015

Tuesday 23rd June 2015 marks the 2nd annual National Women in Engineering Day (NWED). With your help, we can increase awareness of the extreme shortage of women engineers in the UK (6%) and use NWED as a way of encouraging and promoting engineering to girls across the country.

To raise awareness of NWED, we have launched a Thunderclap campaign, the first-ever crowdspeaking platform that allows you to pledge a Tweet or Facebook message all on the same time and day. The campaign will not only allow us to promote NWED, but will help bridge the gap between women and engineering, encouraging more girls across the UK to consider engineering as a profession.

But we can only achieve this with your support.

If you haven’t already signed up to our Thunderclap campaign, all you need to do to is click this link [http://www.nwed.org.uk/] and then select Support with Facebook, Support with Twitter or Support with Tumblr.

Then on 23 June National Women in Engineering Day, everyone who has signed up will automatically have the same message posted on their social media page:

‘It’s National Women in Engineering Day #nwed. Together we can change perceptions and inspire more women engineers http://thndr.it/1d2z2mE

Please spread the word, and get your family, friends and colleagues involved.
