    PPAP – Production Part Approval Process

    Course overview:

    Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), is a method of demonstrating a product or process is production ready. The method was developed by the North American Automotive Industry and is now widely used in many industrial sectors such as automotive, aerospace, renewable energy and mobile power generation.

    PPAP is module five of the Core Tools Certification. This module can be completed as a standalone course or part of the full Core Tools Certification Training. The full Core Tools Certification is achieved by completing all 5 modules of Core Tools Certification Training (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and PPAP) and upon successful completion of the exam.

    Objectives:

    Production Part Approval Process is often mandated by automotive, aerospace and other engineering primary manufacturers as a specific requirement on their suppliers to give them assurance that the supplier understands the customers product specifications and that the suppliers’ manufacturing process has the potential to produce good quality product at agreed quality levels and production rates.

    Companies that apply Production Part Approval Process as the culmination of Advanced Product Quality Planning, gain greater customer confidence in their ability to introduce new products and processes or make changes to existing products & processes. Delegates will become competent in implementing and auditing PPAP and the creation of PPAP Submission packages and learn how it is an integral part of the APQP process.
