Gerard Turk

With their head-quarter based in Runcorn, Sigmatex (UK) Ltd. is providing their wide range of carbon fibre fabric types to a range of industries among which automotive and aerospace. This is done out of their 3 globally located facilities in Runcorn – UK, Orangeburg – US, and Shanghai – China.

After his physics PhD from the University of Liverpool, Gerard has spent over 15 years working in the aerospace and automotive industry on different development projects cooperating with large OEMs. Currently working as the Strategic Project Manager, he is overseeing funded projects and larger commercial opportunities. This involves, for example, working together with companies throughout the supply chain to reduce the cost of carbon composite sufficiently and therefore making CFRP-material attractive to the high-volume automotive industry.
