NAA Update from the NAA’s new Chief Executive, Paul Jones
I will open this month’s newsletter by firstly saying how proud I am to be joining the NAA as Chief Executive and to be able to bring my 30+ years of professional experience in the North West’s automotive industry to the table for benefit of our members…
Secondly, I want to say a big thank you to Rowan for his huge contribution to our organisation over the last couple of years and also to wish him well for the next exciting chapter of his life.
I could not have imagined joining the NAA at a more challenging time for the automotive sector, in the midst of the current coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis; however, I want to assure you that as an automotive cluster organisation we are still here to support you. Please see our information about COVID-19 Business Support using this Link
The NAA is a strong believer in partnership and collaborative working with industry, relevant public sector organisations, trade organisations, local and national government; and it is this ethos that will carry us all through this difficult time and allow us to emerge stronger and for the better. We are all in this together and we need to support each other to get through this together.
As an organisation we have set up a daily crisis meeting and we are also in daily contact with national trade bodies and government departments to facilitate business support. At this stage I want to say thank you to those of you who have responded to our COVID-19 business impact surveys and to let you know that I have had direct feedback from central government that your information is helping to form a clear picture of the situation on the ground. We will also continue to seek clarification on the latest business support actions introduced by government and to keep up the regular feedback dialogue with you; our members.
Even though we are all in lock-down and working from home, we continue to provide membership support, so if you need us please do not hesitate to contact us.
Paul Jones
CEO, NAA
