    NAA Event Review: Burnley College – joint networking event with the North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA)

    Our latest networking event saw us visit NAA member Burnley College for our first joint networking event in partnership with the North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA).

    The event theme was “Future Skills for Advanced Manufacturing,” and it was designed to bring together industry leaders, employers, and educators to explore the evolving skills landscape in advanced manufacturing. 

    Guest speakers from Burnley College, Blackpool & The Fylde College, and East Lancs Learning Group, who are all partners of the Lancashire & Cumbria Institute of Technology, showcased how regional colleges are working in partnership to address workforce challenges, share best practices, and shape the future talent pipeline that will drive innovation and growth across the sector.

    Delegates were able to hear presentations from:

    Neil Burrows – Director of Skills and Innovation – Burnley College / Lancashire & Cumbria Institute of Technology

    Christopher Mayoh – Director of Curriculum Engineering, Construction and Motor Vehicle – East Lancs Learning Group/ Lancashire & Cumbria Institute of Technology

    Sarah Hall – Director B&FC for Business – Blackpool and The Fylde College/ Lancashire & Cumbria Institute of Technology.

    Finally, delegates were given a guided tour of the extensive, state-of-the-art facilities at the Burnley College Engineering Centre of Excellence.
