Personal
Married to Einstein Rodrigues (yes, Einstein!). We met at University in London, both studying Economics. Our friendship continued over the last 25 years and we married in April 2012.

I have a passion for rescuing dogs and we have just adopted Oscar, a cross-breed from Bulgaria.

Love coastal walks and never tire of the sight, smell or sound of the sea.

Member of a book (and wine appreciation) club. Both aspects are fully discussed and savoured at each meeting.

Favourite football team
Liverpool, Spurs and Everton – I like to keep the peace.

Musical performer
Have played the violin, guitar and tin whistle but I really excel at air guitar.

Movie
The Sound of Music. It was my first cinema experience and I will never forget the excitement and spectacle.

Books

Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach is my all-time favourite. Have just finished reading ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’ by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling). It was superb and would highly recommend it.

Best motoring moment
Driving a friend’s Porsche very, very slowly!
