    What does your company do? 

    Leading international manufacturer of high-quality sewing threads. World leader supplying the Automotive Industry passenger safety systems (principally for sewing airbags). We also produce a wide range of industrial, technical and embroidery threads for every application.

    Apart from that 

    Member of The Textile Institute and The Society of Dyers & Colourists. Supporting Tameside business community, and working with MIDAS. Campaigner for The Christie foundation. Lived and worked outside the UK for most of the past 35 years!

    Why did you join the NAA?

    To integrate, elevate and expand our company profile within the UK Automotive industry. (Amann Threads is the only major manufacturer of sewing threads for Passenger Safety Systems in the UK). Furthermore, for networking opportunities, to explore new technologies, and to benchmark our business vs World Class Manufacturing facilities.   

    Personal 

    Spending time enjoying the wonderful climate of the Algarve, and making improvements to our family villa there. Sports enthusiast: cycling (road bike), hiking, badminton, angling, travelling, movies, dining out. Supporting local community activities on the Wirral.

    Rugby Union (Ireland), Football (Liverpool), Golf (Rory Mcllroy) Sporting hero: Muhammad Ali.

    Best motoring moments

    Enjoying the breathtaking scenery touring around South Island, New Zealand.  Experiencing the thrill of driving along the 50 Kms of the Amalfi Coast Road in southern Italy. Relishing in the luxury of a Rolls-Royce Spectre around glorious Goodwood. Showcasing the BAC Mono in the AMANN plant, on the hottest day ever recorded in the UK, 19 July 2022.
