Personal
I’d love to be spending time with the family in exotic locations with my multimedia production unit in my rucksack. At the moment it is long walks, catching up on movies and shows, and gadgets.
Favourite football team
This has to be Liverpool, but I was a young supporter of Doncaster Rovers then Leeds in the Don Revie days before I crossed the Pennines.
Musical performer
I’ve tried piano and drums myself, still banging on about the latter. It has to be ELO, Queen, Luther Vandross and Sigma.
Movie
Shawshank Redemption for sheer guts and winning through despite all the odds, or Roman Holiday, with its 10 nominations and three Oscar wins. It’s amazing it got made at all and was responsible for dramatic sales increases for Vespa.
Books
Everything from Shōgun, the 1975 novel by James Clavell, to American Dirt.
Best motoring moment
Driving a Pontiac Fiero up the Pacific Coast Highway to stay in a work colleague’s guesthouse in the hills just outside San Francisco.
Best business advice you’ve ever received?
The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity, the optimist sees an opportunity from a disaster. Learn from looking backwards but focus on moving forwards and if you love what you’re doing you never work a day in your life.
