Our latest networking event this month saw us visit NAA member BCW Group at its Burnley facility.

    We were hosted by:

Delegates were given an overview of the BCW Group, which consists of three companies:

    • BCW Treatments

The event was focused on the latter two companies as they operate primarily in the automotive supply chain serving as a tier 1 supplier to a range of OEMs including JLR, Aston Martin and Scania.

The Group operates from a 300,000 sq ft facility in Burnley, together with a treatment facility in Wellingborough and employs circa 380 employees and has a turnover of circa £55m.

Delegates were given an overview of the primary areas that the automotive activity is currently focused on, including:

    • Chassis and Braking

    • Battery trays

The Burnley facility is able to accept castings, extrusions and billets in a wide range of materials including aluminium, iron, steel; brass, copper, titanium, nimonic and stainless steel, producing assemblies as well as individual components.

This is supported by a dedicated New Product Introduction team, with full certification to ISO9001, ISO14001 and IATF16949.

Delegates were then given an overview of BCW Treatments, which offers a range of treatment processes including:

    • Anodising

    • Passivation

    • Electrostatic Paint

    • Powder Coating

    • Di-Electric Coating

Delegates were then given a tour of the Burnley facility where they were able to view many of these processed and finished components and assemblies.
