This month saw us visit NAA member CEVA Logistics’ Estuary Boulevard facility at Speke, Liverpool where we were hosted by Steve Court, Head of Business Development – Automotive UK & Ireland.

CEVA is fully owned by the CMA CGM Group, One of the world’s largest transport companies, with a reputation for best-in-class profitability. With a group revenue of over $55 billion, it has:

    • 400 offices and 64 terminals globally

    • 664 vessels

    • 12 aircraft (by 2026)

    • 420 ports of call

Delegates were given an overview of CEVA’s end-to-end supply chain solutions covering:

    • Contract logistics

    • Ground, rail, air and ocean freight

    • Through to finished vehicle logistics

As a global leader in the automotive & mobility logistics sector, with over 70 years of experience, 2024 saw 6.1 million vehicles delivered (B2B & B2C) via:

    • 156 warehouses

    • 70+ compounds

    • 70 aftersales warehouses

Steve explained how CEVA is delivering leading automotive logistics expertise throughout the vehicle lifecycle at each of the following stages:

    • Factory construction

    • Inbound to manufacturing

    • Finished vehicle distribution

    • Fleet & mobility

    • Aftermarket & maintenance

    • End-of-life

Steve then gave an overview of how CEVA “make the difference” through:

    • Leveraging capacity at global scale and flow management

    • Leveraging new solutions to support market transformation e.g. sequencing logistics solution to support car manufacturing based on customer specifications

    • Leveraging technology and data to enhance operational excellence and productivity e.g. via autonomous robotics shuttle solutions that enhance productivity and agility

    • Leveraging environmental solutions to support the customer’s net zero journey and transition to a circular business model e.g. through one shared reusable packaging pool for all OEMs and suppliers

Finally, delegates were given a site tour of the operation to see the above in action.
