Electron, a company that delivers specialist painting services for plastic components to the UK automotive industry – typically with technical, metallic, body-coloured and decorative finishes – was presented with the accreditation by Mark Smith, STA Director, Jaguar Land Rover, at Electron on 8 September 2015.
Jaguar Land Rover’s supplier performance measurement system, known as JLRQ, determines the performance of suppliers. The system has been developed to address the joint needs of Jaguar Land Rover, its suppliers and customers in the pursuit of quality excellence.
Electron has invested heavily in quality over recent years in order to exceed the demanding requirements of car manufacturers such as Jaguar Land Rover, resulting in the virtual elimination of defects. The company has also carried out extensive in-house training of its workforce to ensure quality standards are adhered to.
Electron has won various awards including the Northwest Automotive Alliance Supplier Excellence Award in 2014, since when additional systems have been put in place to gain the JLRQ accreditation.
Commenting on Electron gaining the JLRQ Award, Mark Smith from Jaguar Land Rover said:

Electron is approved to TS 16949, the global standard for automotive quality management systems, as well as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.
