NAA Member News: Automotive Comms represents EVUK at the Labour Party Conference

Paul Clarke, Director of Automotive Comms and Green Car Guide, represented Electric Vehicles UK (EVUK) at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool in September.

Surprisingly, many MPs and ministers, even some at the Department for Transport, have never driven, or even been in, an electric vehicle. So the aim of the EVUK presence at the Conference was to engage with delegates about EVs, and to offer rides in electric cars so they can experience them first-hand.

There has been much misinformation about EVs in media coverage, so speaking to policy makers about the facts, and letting them experience electric cars for themselves, is essential.

Green Car Guide is a founding partner of Electric Vehicles UK (EVUK), which is an industry-to-consumer accelerator founded in September 2024 to drive the UK’s transition to battery electric vehicles (BEVs). EVUK was established to support both the EV industry and the public by tackling misinformation, building trust and making electric mobility easier to understand and more accessible. EVUK brings together the EV industry, consumers, policymakers and media to cut through confusion, challenge misinformation and prove that battery electric vehicles are cheaper, better and ready now.

Green Car Guide is the UK’s original green car website, founded in 2006 by Paul Clarke, who has personally reviewed – and photographed – every electric car that’s ever been on sale in the UK. Green Car Guide supplies EV reviews and images to partners in the industry.

Green Car Guide is a project of NAA member Automotive Comms, which provides marketing and communication support to companies in the automotive industry, specialising in working with businesses looking to benefit from the opportunities presented by the transition to EVs.
