NAA Member News: Klarius CEO raises over £2,600 for Movember
Mark Brickhill, CEO at Klarius Products Ltd, has raised over £2,600 for Movember. The event, which takes place every November, encourages men to grow a moustache to raise money for and create awareness of cancer and mental health issues…
Mark’s fundraising has been inspired by the experiences of Tony Brassington, a popular Klarius engineer who worked at the company for over 42 years.
Mark, speaking under the influence of a handlebar moustache, said: “I’ve been taking part in Movember for the past two years and everyone has chipped-in to help support the cause, which I’m very grateful for. The biggest individual fundraiser has been the Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA) dinner, for which I would like to thank our fellow NAA members and CEO Rowan Egan for supporting – together with celebrating some of the best successes of the British automotive industry. A special shout out to Morson Group which made a generous contribution.”
Mark’s ‘full trucker’ is also a tribute to Tony Brassington, who sadly lost his battle with a brain tumour earlier this year. Family, friends and Klarius employees have pulled together to help raise money to combat the condition, with Tony’s daughter Leanne recently organising a highly successful ‘Walk of Hope’ in Tony’s honour – which also raised thousands for The Brain Tumour Charity.
Supporting Movember was therefore a logical choice for Mark: “Whilst not specific to brain tumours, Movember does phenomenal work to fight cancer and mental health issues. My original target was £2,500, but with the help of donations from NAA members, family and friends – I am delighted that we have exceeded it! Thank you all for your kind donations!”
In the midst of a burgeoning interest in 1970s police dramas and Burt Reynolds, Mark is still sporting his face decoration. To learn more about Movember, or to make a contribution to Mark’s fundraising, please visit https://mobro.co/markbrickhill?mc=1
