NAA Member News: STFC fully-funded digital support for energy, decarbonisation, and supply chain projects
STFC Hartree Centre and IBM have announced an Automotive Sector call for projects that will apply digital technologies such as AI, hybrid and multi-cloud, high performance computing (HPC), and quantum computing to challenges within the UK automotive sector.
Funded as part of the Hartree National Centre for Digital Innovation (HNCDI) and supported by The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the call is seeking to fund 3-12 month projects that tackle challenges in energy and decarbonisation, and the supply chain.
“This funding call is an excellent opportunity for those within the Automotive Sector to pursue cutting edge innovation through digital technologies! Working alongside the SMMT, we are insuring that the projects generated from this call provide substantial business impact and boosts the UK Automotive Sector.”
Tim Powell, Automotive Specialist, STFC Hartree Centre
“Advancing the UK automotive sector’s digital capabilities is absolutely critical if we are to stay globally competitive. Our rivals are racing to transform their own AI and computing programmes so this initiative is both timely and extremely welcome.”
John McLellan-Grant, SMMT Regional Engagement Manager – North
