NAA Member News: TISS receives Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade
TISS Limited, based in Blackpool, has received the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade at an Award Ceremony held at the Park House Hotel in Blackpool
The presentation was made by Lord Shuttleworth, the Queen’s representative for Lancashire, at a ceremony attended by staff, business partners, and family and friends of TISS. Notable guests included the Mayor of Blackpool, representatives of both SMMT and UKTI, and over 80 key customers and suppliers.
At the ceremony, Lord Shuttleworth had the opportunity to speak to TISS employees about the TISS flagship “Impregnable” TankSafe™ Fuel Security and Safety Device – the world’s only device to completely stop any siphoning and diesel spills.
During the presentation, Lord Shuttleworth emphasised the significance of the award as “recognition of the hard work and ‘team effort’ by the staff at TISS”, whilst TISS CEO, Ryan Wholey, thanked everyone in the company for their contribution to TISS winning the award: “We take great pride in our products which are designed and manufactured here in the UK. In the past three years we have dramatically increased our global reach and now sell TankSafe into over 40 different territories. We have seen our export sales rise from 13% to 45% of the company’s turnover in this time period which is testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff. Today’s celebration gives the Board of Directors the opportunity to thank everyone for playing their part in the company’s achievement.
