NAA Member News: University of Salford – Sustainable Futures innovative programme
Over the past three months the Centre for Sustainable Innovation (CSI) at the University of Salford, the Northern Automotive Alliance and Siemens have partnered to deliver ‘Sustainable Futures’ a new innovative programme to support businesses in appreciating the role sustainability plays in providing a competitive advantage and ultimately help them to ‘do the right thing’.
With visits to the Siemens site at Congleton to gain insights into their sustainability journey and an online webinar with JLR to understand the future of the sustainability supply chain demands on SMEs, the programme has given practical insights and moments of inspiration. We have shared new models, set baseline metrics, shared our stories, laughed and possibly cried, but participants from NAA Members – Preston Technical, Sigmatex and Tracoinsa Systems have developed their own sustainable action plans.
We will monitor and support the implementation of these plans as we meet up quarterly to track progress and measure the impact.
