Welcome to this month’s newsletter, and I hope you are all keeping well and that you were able to take a summer break.
I want to begin with some really welcome news for our sector with the announcement from the Department for Business and Trade last month of the DRIVE35 Funding Programme, which will provide capital and R&D funding for the UK automotive industry in the design, development and manufacturing of zero-emission vehicles and their supply chain.
A total of £2.5 billion of capital and R&D funding is available via DRIVE35, including £500 million to 2035 to extend R&D support for 10 years.
DRIVE35 is composed of three funding pillars, each with individual competition streams. The funding amount available for applicants varies according to each stream.
