NAA Update: Stellantis announces £100 million investment in Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port manufacturing plant to transform the site to build electric vehicles
Ellesmere Port will become the first Stellantis plant to produce a solely battery-electric model, in both commercial and passenger versions, by the end of next year, for Vauxhall, Opel, Peugeot and Citroën brands and for both domestic and export markets.

I’m sure that by now most of you will have heard that last week Stellantis announced a £100 million investment in Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port manufacturing plant to transform the site for a new era in electric vehicle manufacturing. Ellesmere Port will become the first Stellantis plant to produce a solely battery-electric model, in both commercial and passenger versions, by the end of next year, for Vauxhall, Opel, Peugeot and Citroën brands and for both domestic and export markets. Emerson & Renwick is a leading manufacturer of production machinery, in the areas of automotive/heat exchanger machinery, coating and laminating machinery and wallcovering machinery.
LiNa Energy was formed in the summer of 2017 and is a spin-out of Lancaster University. LiNa is applying modern materials engineering to the sodium-nickel-chloride battery to create a game-changing storage technology.
LiNa is delighted to announce that their recent bid to join the Advanced Propulsion Centre’s Technology Developer Accelerator Programme (TDAP) was successful – read more about this here
Pro2 is an automotive consultancy supporting customer experiential events, vehicle engineering projects and bespoke engineer training. They provide professional drivers, design and deliver events to give the ultimate experience for customers.
We will hear more from these members in the coming months.
Last week, one of our partner organisations, Make UK published a new report – Trade and Cooperation with the EU: Six months on, it can be found here. The report explores the experiences of manufacturers in the first six months of this year and since the Trade and Cooperation Agreement was agreed at the end of last year.
Our webinar programme continues, with the most recent event hosted by Professor Andrew Lyons of the University of Liverpool Management School which focused on opportunities for businesses to engage with the Universities in general – please read our event review further in this e-news for more details.
