The International Festival for Business (IFB) 2014 – The Olympics for Business
The inaugural International Festival for Business (IFB) will be the UK’s most significant international trade and commerce showcase since 1951, and the biggest concentration of business events globally in 2014
Attracting more than 250,000 delegates/visitors from 100+ countries across 50 days during June and July 2014, and hosted in the Liverpool City Region, the IFB will comprise well over 100 business-focused events of all shapes and sizes, underpinned by a major cultural programme.
The overall aims are to contribute to doubling UK exports by 2020 and generate £100+million inward investment, with an explicit focus on creating new business-to-business relationships and trading opportunities at home and abroad for UK companies, small, medium and large.
A range of dedicated brokerage services will be provided, both virtually and within the IFB Hub, via UKTI and other core partners.
The events programme is being clustered around 7 key themes: Cities, Enterprise & Urban Business; Creative & Digital; Higher/Further Education & Research; Financial & Professional Services; Low Carbon & Renewables; Manufacturing, Science & Technology; Maritime & Logistics.
There is an open invitation to individual businesses to become directly involved in a variety of ways, from attending, exhibiting, sponsoring or speaking, to organising your own events, and bringing your domestic and international customers, suppliers, and trade associations.
In the words of the Prime Minister, “This is going to be an event on an unprecedented scale… and a shop window like no other… So for anyone involved in enterprise, the International Festival for Business is the place to be. Make sure you’re there to make the most of it”.
