    NAA Event Review: Element Materials Technology

    Our latest networking event last month saw us visit NAA member Element Materials Technology at their Wednesbury facility, where we were welcomed by Sara Moore, Business Development Associate and Natalie Phelan, Technical Manager.

    Delegates were first given an overview of Element’s history, from its formation in 2010 as a carve-out of the testing and inspection division of the Netherlands-based Stork company, right up to its acquisition in 2022 by Temasek, a global investment company headquartered in Singapore.

    This was followed by a global overview of Element’s worldwide presence and impact, which includes:

    • +8,000 engaged experts

    • >40,000 customers

    • 260 locations

    • 30+ countries

    Serving a wide range of industry sectors, including:

    • Transportation

    • Aerospace / Defence

    • Life Sciences

    • Connected Technologies

    • Built Environment

    • Energy 

    • Environmental

    • Industrials

    Delegates were then given an overview of Element Automotive and their approach to testing which includes:

    • Tailored testing solutions

    • Flexible and responsive service

    • Trusted compliance

    • Collaborative partnership

    • Photogrammetry – TRITOP and scanning

    Delegates were then given an overview of Element Automotive’s current capabilities, which include:

    • Interior and exterior materials and trim testing

    • Environmental testing

    • Accredited weathering (UV) and corrosive testing

    • Flammability testing

    • Electrical actuation – load; cyclic; durability

    • Tensile testing

    • Vehicle interior emissions

    • Chemical testing

    Finally, delegates were given a guided tour of Element’s Wednesbury testing facilities, where they were able to experience first-hand many of the processes and equipment described above in full working action.
