    NAA Event Review: An Automotive Sector Overview

    The topic in focus for our latest webinar last month was “An Automotive Sector Overview”, delivered in conjunction with global, multi-award winning financial advisory firm, Interpath.

    Lee Swinerd – Director, Co-Lead Automotive Sector and Laura Slater – Associate Director, from Interpath were our guest presenters for the event.

    The event commenced with delegates being given an overview of Interpath and its various service offerings for the automotive sector, which was then followed by Interpath’s current view of the UK’s automotive industry. The focus then zoomed out to the big picture, which included a timeline of recent global events which have had a significant impact on the sector.

    Turning to automotive manufacturing and its associated supply chain, delegates were then given an overview of global automotive production, including the UK’s vehicle production footprint and factors impacting its changing landscape, including:

    • Impact of slower EV adoption 

    • Iran War Risks: Inflation, energy shocks and automotive disruption  

    • General challenges within EU automotive industry

    A detailed view of the UK market then followed, including:

    • UK new car registrations  

    • New vehicle forecasts for FY26  

    • Breakdown of new vehicle registrations  

    • UK used car sales 

    • Used vehicles forecasts for FY26  

    Focus then turned to Chinese brands that have exploded into the UK market and also the view that UK Government is under pressure to soften ZEV targets.

    Finally, delegates were given an update on current matters impacting car dealers.
