NAA Member Company News – Bentley hosts its first Women In Engineering Day
On Wednesday 23 June Bentley welcomed 42 female students at the first Women In Engineering Day…
The event was held on National Women In Engineering Day and was aimed at female students who are interested in a career in Engineering or Manufacturing.
Students from schools and colleges took part in a number of activities and presentations which demonstrated the exciting career opportunities available and dispelled a few myths about their ideas of Engineering and Manufacturing.
The day was organised as part of the Attraction activities run by the Academy with schools and Universities, and the Women In Engineering network group who are Bentley female Engineers and apprentices.
Kevin Street – Careers Manager at Kings Grove School said “I thought it was fantastic and well organised. The carousel of activities worked really well. But the best thing was having the women talk about what they do and lots of activities for the pupils to engage with”.
The plan is to build on the success of this event and run similar days for Primary schools and Universities to encourage more females to consider Engineering, Manufacturing and Bentley as a career choice.
