NAA Member News: MES wins facilities contract with Getrag

The contract will be wide-ranging and involve electrical testing, calibration, pest control, medical waste disposal, roof maintenance, external grounds maintenance, road and car park sweeping, drain clearance, cleaning windows and cladding as well as various other cleaning tasks. It will also encompass fire protection maintenance as well as the annual inspection and cleaning of furnaces ducting.
MES (NW) will also be responsible for the inspection and servicing of the automotive OEM’s chilled water plant, site CCTV security systems, parts washing machine services and maintenance, servicing and gas safe inspection of boilers and heating systems as well as rapid roller door maintenance.
The contract will see MES (NW) double in size to 21 members of staff.
The company was formed by Neil Hodgkinson, Managing Director, who has 36 years under his belt, predominantly in the automotive industry, working for Tier 1 automotive suppliers. He is flanked by Ged Walker, Operations Director, who has 25 years’ experience in the services sector, and Peter Hughes, QHSE and Electrical Director, with 25 years in the installation and services sector.
Neil said: “We currently have over 20 customers in the various sectors, and a tried and tested network of sub-contractors. We will have a look at any kind of contract and work all over the country. This latest contract is a significant investment in plant equipment and training for current and new staff.”
All MES (NW) staff are fully qualified and health and safety accredited with training provision supplied by MES.
The firm has attained ISO 9001, 14001, QHSAS 1800. It also has Safe Contractor NICEIC and CHAS.
