    Growing the competitiveness of the UK Automotive Supply Chain

    Companies can now bid for a share of £100 million from the Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI) to boost their international competitiveness.

    Following successful previous programmes SMMT are preparing a bid for funding to help support SME companies in the upstream supply chain strengthen their position and increase their competitiveness against overseas suppliers.

    Companies are encouraged to submit bids to SMMT outlining their intended programme that will focus on one or more of the following areas:

    • Applications will be assessed on the basis of:
    • Training and skills development that supports the projectThis is an intensive programme that requires full commitment and a willingness to improve from applicant companies.
    • Research & Development
    • Capital Investment
    • Technical merit
    • Value for money
    • Financial strength
    • State aid compliance
