Why did you join the NAA?

    Personal

I’ve always enjoyed sport and the outdoors, from rugby and golf to surfing, scuba diving, fishing and canoe marathons on South Africa’s great rivers. Beyond the enjoyment, I value the fitness and the social connections that sport brings.

    Favourite Sports team

    The mighty Springboks

Favourite Musical Performer / Group / Genre

Love a bit of 90s Dad rock, but my taste in music is really broad, and so I listen to most genres, mood dependent.

    Favourite Movie

A tie between Gladiator and The Wedding Crashers

    Favourite Books

If I had to choose one, Probably Shantaram by G.D Roberts.

With that said, I enjoy Robert Harris novels at the moment. I love how he blends interesting historical events with the intrigue of a great thriller. I am also working my way through the “Penguin Classics”.

    Best motoring moment

My first car was an old VW Golf 1.8l. I once drove it to a campsite that most people thought was only accessible by 4×4, river crossings, rough African terrain, etc. I couldn’t ride share due to work commitments and had to drive up myself. After arriving that evening behind a convoy of off-road vehicles, it earned the nickname “The 4xGolf”.
