Lancashire Case Study: EnginE – Productivity Upskilling in Lancashire
Advanced engineering and manufacturing SMEs in Lancashire can now benefit from funded upskilling and workforce planning support via the EnginE programme…
EnginE can assist your business to maximise your workforce’s potential, support you to source and plan affordable training and development solutions, and demonstrate the impact higher level skills and apprenticeships can have on your business productivity and growth.
Higher level skills and apprenticeships aren’t just for school leavers and young people; they can now be used throughout the workforce to upskill existing staff. In a recent report 78 per cent of businesses say apprentices improved productivity in their business; 74 per cent say they have improved product or service quality; and 65 per cent believed they had brought new ideas into their business, yet many businesses are still not maximising the benefits they can bring.
EnginE helps you to bring these benefits to your business in a package to suit your business needs, by working with you to create a bespoke skills plan which will map out their skills requirements, across all business areas, supporting employees of all ages and all levels of the business; providing access to funded short taster courses for you and your teams in over 30 specialisms; and access to skilled internships.
Short course titles range from leadership, project management, contract law, and process improvement; through to a range of engineering specialisms for both automotive and aerospace sectors, 3D CAD design and orthographic projects, prototyping and design. The project can also fund undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate internships to demonstrate the impact of higher-level skills in action.
Lancashire SMEs can find out more about what is on offer and how to get involved through a series of events held in different locations around Lancashire over the coming months. All EnginE activities are free to attend for Lancashire-based Advanced Engineering Manufacturers.
