NAA Member News: Konduit partners with automotive suppliers EMD and TECMA
Konduit Ltd, operating as business developers between the UK and countries around the world, has recently been retained by two suppliers to the Automotive industry: EMD for metal stampings and assemblies, and TECMA for machined and assembled aluminium products, both based in Catalonia, the industrial heartland of Spain.
Both organisations are leaders in their respective fields with many years of experience, supported by a wide range of services, extensive capabilities and a flexible approach to customers’ needs.
EMD Stamping is based in Barcelona, specialising in short-series stamping and laser cutting processes for steel and aluminium. With over 50 years of experience, EMD has established itself as a trusted and respected brand in the industry, thanks to its passion for quality and innovation.
The company focuses on producing large-dimension parts, handling pieces up to 4.5 metres by 2 metres with a pressing capacity of 2,100 tonnes. Their services encompass simultaneous engineering, 3D scanning, tool and die manufacture, stamping, prototypes, digitalisation, and welding. EMD also offers 5-axis laser cutting to reduce tooling investments.
EMD collaborates with partners in Romania and Mexico to produce small and medium-sized parts and assemblies, extending its global reach. The company’s mission is to be a reference partner for customers, offering comprehensive services from development to product realisation, with a strong focus on customer needs and challenges.
Sustainability is a key pillar of EMD’s strategy, emphasising respect for ethics, integrity, and professionalism, as well as promoting innovation and research to minimise material usage in tools and production processes. The company is committed to offering value-added solutions to customers, creating employment, and managing non-financial risks responsibly.
TECMA Aluminium, established in 2006 by Narcís Puigdemont in Banyoles, Spain, is a leading provider of high-quality aluminium components. Building upon a family tradition of machining excellence, the company has expanded rapidly to serve clients across Europe and beyond.
Operating as a one-stop shop, they manage the entire process from design to worldwide shipping, offering a full-service including design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and delivery. Their product range includes complex assembled pieces, turned pieces, block pieces, and machined profiles.
Strategically located near the French-Spanish border and close to the port of Barcelona, TECMA offers a cost-effective alternative to northern European organisations without compromising on quality.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability, TECMA produces 70% of its components from recycled aluminium and continually strives to improve this percentage annually. Additionally, the company’s production facility operates entirely on renewable energy, aligning with global net-zero emission goals.
In 2023, TECMA expanded its production facility by 70%, reflecting its dedication to meeting growing client demands.
The company serves diverse sectors, including transportation, renewable energy, construction, and medical devices, offering a comprehensive one-stop-shop process that encompasses engineering, manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and delivery.
