NAA Update: Season’s Greetings from the Northern Automotive Alliance

The Annual Dinner has come and gone, but the diary is already looking very busy for January and further into 2016, so it must be the time for the last newsletter of the year – I cannot believe how rapidly the years fly past!…

Amidst a time of change with the demise of the Business Growth Service (MAS & Growth Accelerator), the delivery gap in European funded projects, and the full impact of the Government’s Spending Review to be fully filtered down, I can assure you that we are here to help you find your way through the changes and identify the best options for you.

If you haven’t had a recent 1-1 review with us as part of your membership package, then please contact Zoe who will book you in with one of us to visit your facilities. We want to be sure that we are offering you the best possible service and that you are maximising the utilisation of your membership.

Hopefully you are getting used to our new name, the Northern Automotive Alliance (still the NAA!) and you will start to see a broader range of meetings for you to attend, especially if you don’t mind driving a little further – although as I have found in the last few months, it is actually closer for me to drive to Huddersfield than it is to Crewe! – just demonstrating why it makes sense for us to expand Eastwards.

I will have more information for you in the January edition about some of our new ventures, but just to whet your appetite, I’m pleased to announce that we have joined up with AMRC Training Centre to offer a selection of training courses linked to materials; we have taken a selection of their offerings within their materials catalogue and will be offering them across the year – if the take-up is good we will look to introduce more courses. I can highly recommend the courses as in my prior role we used the same team to deliver our ‘Metallurgy for non-Metallurgists’ course. If you’re an NAA member then there’s a saving if you take the course with us as compared to at another location, and as with all of our courses, if you’re interested in running an in-house or tailored course for your particular company we can also arrange that for you. Take a look on the website page and get booking!: http://northernautoalliance.com/skills-training

One of the other new items for 2016 will be our use of social media, Martina will be leading this activity for you and here are some words from her, if you are not proficient with social media then this is your chance to explore it and understand how it could help your business; if you are proficient, then I don’t need to sell it to you!

With just 140 characters on Twitter we will not be wasting your time and with two new members on LinkedIn every second, we will be introducing you to new employees, suppliers and customers. So, make sure you are with us. Please follow our company page on LinkedIn and if you are a NAA member, you will soon be invited to join the members-only LinkedIn Group.

Finally that leaves me with the pleasure of thanking you all for your support during 2015, wishing you all the best for a peaceful and relaxing Christmas with your family and friends, and I look forward to seeing you all at our exciting events planned for 2016!
