NAA Update: Speakers announced for the NAA’s inaugural Conference, ‘Moving North’, 12 April 2018, Manchester – book now!

A range of high profile speakers have now been announced for the first ever Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP)/NAA Northern Conference; this is the last newsletter before the event, so don’t miss out – book now…

Some of the speakers that have now been confirmed for ‘Moving North’, the first ever Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP)/NAA Northern Conference, taking place on Thursday 12 April 2018 at Manchester Metropolitan University, include:

    • Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester
    • Mike Hawes, Chief Executive, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)
    • Lawrence Davies MBE, Chief Executive, Automotive Investment Organisation
    • Jon Lamonte, Chief Executive, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM)
    • Andy Eastlake, Managing Director, Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP)
    • Carol Holden OBE, Chief Executive, Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA)
    • Dave Roberts, Director, Smart Interventions, EA Technology.

Why should you attend? This conference will look at the future of transport in the Northern Powerhouse region (and beyond) – a future that will be driven by ever-tighter legislation on issues such as air quality – and the resulting opportunities for businesses in the automotive sector.

The event – which has two headline sponsors, GEFCO and Uber – and the drinks reception which follows the day’s conference, will also be an important networking opportunity, as it will bring together a number of different sectors, including the automotive industry and governmental/public sector organisations.

Take a look at our article in this newsletter and sign up now while there are still spaces. I highly recommend that all NAA members attend and support this event as delegates. Let’s show that the automotive companies in the North are open for business, with a big turnout.

There are also some indoor exhibition spaces, a small number of outside spaces for vehicles, and a very limited number of sponsorship opportunities. Please contact Martina (martina.rodrigues@northernautoalliance.com) or Paul Clarke (paul.clarke@automotivecomms.co.uk) to discuss any of these opportunities.

At this point I should mention that this article is from myself, Steve Williams, NAA Director – I’m standing in for Carol, who is recovering from an operation, but is due back soon!  So, if this article is not up to the usual standard, you know why.

Another event that I must recommend to you is a visit to the BAC Mono manufacturing facility in Speke on 20 March – another unique opportunity for NAA members – Link to BAC Mono Event

Due to popular demand, we’re also running a ‘Deep Dive Workshop – Machine Data Collection’ at Getrag, Halewood, on 17 April. – Link to the Deep Dive Workshop – Getrag

And if you missed one of the NAA’s recent events at Siemens about how to digitalise your factory, please take a couple of moments to read the review. Siemens Event Review Link

Finally, I’d like to welcome new members this month: FDM Digital Solutions, LKE-Group and BCW Manufacturing.  The more you put in to the NAA, the more you get out, so we hope to see you at as many events as possible – and that includes our forthcoming Conference!
